Are y’all okay? That storm yesterday was intense!!! I was at my other work (EMS) and it was a wild ride! We ran around the building trying to protect computers from water coming down from the roof. We all stayed in dispatch while we could but it got too hot in there as we didn’t have any A/C. The generators make sure the necessary computers can be up running and that’s it.
Except some leaks in the roof the only other damage the building had was the bay door to the garage blew in. Thankfully the truck it fell on seemed to be okay.
When it all whined down me and my partner had to start running calls. It wasn’t anything major that we ran on. I heard a structure fire somewhere, don’t know where exactly but Dallas County. But we saw lots of damages. Trees down everywhere! I think that was the main issue. Signs, privacy fences and trash was damaged and spread all over the place. Several 18-wheelers blew over and was stranded. The drivers seemed to be unharmed. My partners sister got a tree through her house and will have to live somewhere else for a while. It is a mess.
I was able to check on my dogs in the cameras all the time. That told me that my house didn’t loose power. The dogs were fine and slept through the entire ordeal. Wish I could have done the same! But no damage on my property, nor the property where I have my horses. There are now words for how grateful I am for that! Knowing that so many other has so much clean up to do. As the writing of this post, not all have even got the power back!
Needless to say, it was a wild ride. If there is anything I can do to help you, please don’t hesitate to let me know!
