Last week at LaNei’s Bakehouse Market, I had the pleasure of meeting one of our vendors, Luke — a wonderfully talented young man who creates the most delightful crochet plushies you’ve ever seen. Each one is handmade with such care and creativity, I couldn’t help but be inspired.
So of course, I gave him a challenge.
I asked, “Can you make a Dalmatian with a curled tail?” — a nod to my beloved pup, Twix. We chatted back and forth over the next few days, and I sent him a couple of reference pictures to help capture Twix’s unique look. You could tell Luke was genuinely excited about the project, and so was I.
Fast forward to yesterday at the Wills Point Community Market — and there it was. A tiny plush Twix, lovingly handcrafted and absolutely adorable. He nailed the little details, right down to the eye markings — spot on, quite literally. I couldn’t stop smiling.

It’s moments like these that remind me why I love supporting local talent and small business owners. It’s not just about the products — it’s about the heart, the connection, and the joy they bring.
Thank you, Luke, for turning a fun idea into something that made my whole day brighter. Twix approves, and so do I. 💛
