Happy Heart Day to Me

Today is a very special day in my life — a double celebration full of gratitude, love, and a whole lot of heart.

Seven years ago yesterday, I had my second cardiac arrest. That was one of the scariest days of my life — a day when everything could have ended. But today marks the anniversary of the day I was given a second chance. On this day, seven years ago, I received my pacemaker — and with it, a whole new life.

So yes… today is what I call my Heart Day. 💓
And if we’re being technical, I’m turning 7. Which means, by kid law, I should probably be off the hook for bills, taxes, and adulting in general. Right?? 😅

I’m beyond grateful to be here. Grateful for the incredible doctors and nurses who saved me and who continue to do this life-saving work every single day. You don’t just treat patients — you give people their lives back. I’m living proof.

But that’s not the only reason today is special.

March 21st is also my late grandmother’s birthday. She would have turned 102 years old today. 🕊️
Grandma was one of the strongest, kindest, most nurturing women I’ve ever known. The kind of woman whose spirit you carry with you always. I can’t help but think she’s up there watching over me, cheering me on, and maybe even having a slice of heavenly birthday cake while I celebrate my second shot at life.

Happy Heart Day to me.
Happy Heavenly Birthday to you, Grandma. 💐
I miss you, I love you, and I know you’re with me.
