A Day in the Life of a Busy Entrepreneur

Today was one of those nonstop days where you blink, and suddenly the sun is setting! It kicked off with an early morning drive to Terrell for the Chamber Morning Mixer. Braving the freezing temps wasn’t my favorite, but stepping into a packed room full of energy and friendly faces made it worth it. I got to share insights about the market and, of course, talk about tea! And the cherry on top? I won a $15 Chick-fil-A gift card in the raffle! Not a bad start to the day, right?

After the mixer, I headed to check on my horses. Winter and I are not friends. Growing up in Sweden, I’ve had enough of the cold to last a lifetime, and these freezing temps are wearing me down. Day five of hammering through frozen water troughs, and I’m officially over it. Someone tried the saltwater bottle trick to prevent freezing, but it was a bust. One tub froze solid around the bottle, and the other bottle just sank to the bottom. After cracking the ice (and nearly freezing myself), I had to sit in my car to thaw out before driving home. My hands were so cold I couldn’t move them, and the pain was no joke.

Once home, I jumped into an online training with my brokerage. The topic was surveys—something I didn’t know much about beyond the basics from real estate school. The presentation was packed with helpful information, and I’m glad I was able to tune in. I love learning new things that help me better serve my clients!

After that, it was time for some DIY work. I had to make markers for the outdoor booths for Saturday’s event. I’m not exactly a handy person, but I’m all about giving it a go. I grabbed some wood from the lumber yard and got to cutting and spray painting. Did you know spray paint recommends 50-degree weather? Well, it was 46, so close enough! After finishing half the markers, I was exhausted. They’re currently “drying” in the sun, but I’m not holding my breath in this weather!

Even with all the chaos, I feel surprisingly prepared for Saturday’s event. I’ll head out on Friday for final touches, and then it’s showtime! I’ve poured my heart into this project, and I’m so excited to see it all come together. I hope you’ll swing by and check it out!
