Today was one of those events that remind me why I love being part of this business community. I had the pleasure of attending the Terrell Chamber of Commerce Annual Membership & Industry Recognition Luncheon, and it was a fantastic lucnch filled with great food, great people, and an inspiring keynote speaker.

Walking into the room, I immediately saw so many familiar faces—some I see often, and others I hadn’t caught up with in a while. There’s something special about reconnecting with people who share the same passion for our local businesses and community growth. Whether it’s a quick “Hey, how have you been?” or a deeper conversation about the industry, these moments always leave me feeling energized.

One of the highlights of the event was our keynote speaker, Erleigh Wiley, Kaufman County District Attorney. She tackled a serious topic—crime—but did it in a way that kept the room engaged with humor and authenticity. It’s not every day you can say a speech on crime had you laughing, but that’s the magic of a great speaker. She reminded us all that even in difficult discussions, connection and understanding matter.

Of course, no luncheon is complete without good food, and Soulman’s BBQ did not disappoint! Nothing brings people together quite like a delicious plate of barbecue.
Overall, it was a great event, and I’m so grateful to be part of a community that values connection, learning, and support for local industries. Can’t wait for the next one!
