Texas is quite toasty right now… and in a hangar with little to none air circulation was not a less hot ordeal. But it was worth it and it was fun. Yesterday was the ribbon cutting for CareFlite’s ambulance helicopter new home at the Terrell Airport. Thankfully they handed out paper fans to everyone that was well used!
Can you believe they started talking about this back when I moved here, in 2008… and today, 16 years later it finally happened… Politics at its finest I guess. But it was worth the wait!
This is a great thing for both Terrell and Kaufman County. To have a bird in the area and not 45 minutes away as the closest trauma 1 hospital is either in Dallas (40 minutes west) or Tyler (an hour east). And for me working at a different EMS company, it will help with response time if our patients needs to be flown.
I saw a bunch of people I haven’t seen for a while! Law enforcement, EMS, Friends, Acquaintances, business owners etc. It was so much fun! Great event!
